2014...what a year!
First I'd like to say that it has been far too long since I've posted to this blog. I guess that's what happens when you're busy living life instead of just writing about it. I would like to say that this year took me beyond what I thought was possible. I did the normal trips to Orlando early on in the year to see family. Had a fun weekend getaway in Las Vegas. I also went to Long Island, NY this summer to see my cousin get married in the most beautiful affair. Lastly, I ventured to the west coast, to my beloved California, and spent some time in San Diego. But wait! That is not all. I had the pleasure and shear humbling joy of an opportunity to go to Dubai, U.A.E. and CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA!!!
Yes, me. Little ole me went half way around the world to places that I'd only dreamed of visiting. I was able to participate in a desert safari, and view the sky scrapers of Dubai. I was able to stay at a resort right on the water in Cape Town, party on Long Street, and enjoy the picturesque vineyards. I often still daydream of the beauty of Cape Town. It's almost surreal that I, yes me, was able to go to South Africa and view with 'mine own eyes' the pure, captivating awesomeness that is the landscape of Cape Town. I pinch myself even now.
All this is to say, that although the first few blogs were about going to NY, FL and California mostly, as well as the occasional Caribbean and European adventure; I had NO IDEA that I'd be able to go to places like the Middle East and Africa. What you do not think possible, can happen. Whatever you believe is the limit, there is still more beyond that point. Being open to what life has in store for you is all that it takes to live and experience the joy of the unexpected.
Live free, experience often, love always.
