Philly III + Gtown

I haven't had much time to get out and about, however, I was able to sneak off to Philadelphia again, and this time (just as last) I enjoyed my self thoroughly for such a short turn around trip.

My 9 hours in Philly took me to a cute baby shower off in Ardmore, PA, then to the movies to see Transformers 2 with my brother near Temple University. My brother now resides in the heart of downtown off of Chestnut near Broad...I think. There are so many cute jazz clubs, and lounges in the area, not to mention restaurants reminiscent of NYC, on a smaller scale of course. We parked near a very upscale Mexican restaurant, and my brother (5 years younger than myself) proceeded to take me through the alleys and back streets of downtown to what he said was a perfect place to have dinner. We ended up at El Vez Mexican Restaurant. What a great choice! The place was packed and the 4 hostesses were swamped with customers. When you walk in there's a circle bar full of beautiful, fashionable people, that reminded me of a scene from Sex and the City. Good thing myself and my bro fit the standards (and I even got compliments on my dress the whole night...).

My Pink Cadillac margarita was great, and our Nacho Supreme was huge and oh so good. Our meals were excellent too, and the service was friendly and fast. I loved it! Their slogan is "Mexican-American meets East L.A. in a Tijuana Taxi." You know that has to be good right?

All in all it was a good trip, and next time my bro said that he has to take me to this cute jazz cafe nearby. There is so much more I want to see in Philly, I cant wait to visit again. It's much more than a friend of mine said it would be. I believe his quote exactly was "Philly is just like New York, without all the cool stuff New York has," LOL...J-Thrilla was wrong, the cool stuff is there, you just have to look for it. It's just not the exhibitionist city that NY is!

Back to DC, I went to a cute lounge in Georgetown called Zenobia. This may be the place where I will have my first hooka experience, who knows. The staff is friendly, they have free wifi and the patio was very busy for a Thursday evening. I also finally got around to going to the AMC Loews cinema in Georgetown. It was fine I guess...they have seats, and a screen, not much else to say...oooo oh, almost forgot, they also have funnel cakes...that made them 1 point more special than other theatres.

Wishing everyone a great 4th of July. I'll be working all weekend, but have no doubt that I will eat-and-run at as many BBQ's as I can, so look out for my stealth dine and dash skills at a BBQ near you!
